In a meeting ,our former chief minister Dr.M. Karunanidhi stated a reason for choosing the srivilliputhur temple GOPURAM as the logo for tamilnadu government.A unique feature in its architecture made him to tell so.What is so special in its architecture?

Hint: see a picture of the gopuram to get a clue and think in DMK way

The EX-CM(& the party, largely) happens to be an atheist & this particular Gopuram has nothing religious about it (like statues or paintings).
