1)”X” brought out a newspaper called Forward and later changed its
name to Liberty to fight the British Raj. When the Calcutta
Corporation was formed, he became its first Mayor. He resigned his
presidency of the Indian National Congress at the Gaya session after
losing a motion on “No Council Entry” to Gandhi’s faction. He then
founded the Swaraj Party, with veteran Motilal Nehru and young Huseyn
Shaheed Suhrawardy, to express his immoderate opinions .
He was a believer of non-violence and constitutional methods for the
realisation of national independence, and advocated communal harmony
and championed the cause of national education. His legacy was carried
forward by his disciples, and notably by Subhash Chandra Bose.who is
this friend of the nation?

2)X,known as Bihar Kesari, was the first Chief Minister of Bihar
(1946–1961).The President of India,Pratibha Patil released a book on
the letters of exchange between X and the First Prime minister of
India Jawaharlal Nehru titled Freedom and Beyond.The Nehru-“X”
correspondence mainly touches on various important subjects such as
Indian democracy in the making in early years of Independence,
Centre-state relations, role of governor, turbulence in Nepal,
Zamindari abolition and education scenario.ID X.

3)Etymologially, the word “Y” is made of two words,with the literal
meaning of ‘City of thousand tigers’.However with the reduced
population of tigers, the name was changed to “Z” (the city of a
thousand gardens). According to Sir John Houlton the town takes its
name from the small villages of Okni and ______ – shown in old maps as
Ocun______. The last syllable in its name probably originated in a
mango-grove, which formed a camping ground for troops and travellers
marching along the ‘new military road’ from Kolkata to Varanasi,
constructed in 1782 and the following years. The Grand Trunk Road
subsequently replaced this military road in the mid-eighteen hundreds,
but the lay out differed at places, particularly around “Y”.ID Y and
the present Z.

4)The _________ Shramadana Movement is a self-governance movement in
Sri Lanka, which provides comprehensive development and conflict
resolution programs to villages. It is also the largest indigenous
organization working in reconstruction from the tsunami caused by the
2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. Founded in 1958 by Dr A. T. Ariyaratne
when he took, “forty high school students and twelve teachers from
Nalanda College Colombo” on “an educational experiment” to an outcaste
village Kathaluwa and helped the villagers fix it up. It is based on
Buddhist and Gandhian principles, including __________ from which it
got the name and swaraj (self-governance).FITB.
